Today’s post will be mostly pictures. We left Atlantic Yacht Basin in time to make the 10:00 opening of Great Bridge and slid right into the lock. We had an easy 1 ft. drop and snaked our way up the Elizabeth River to Norfolk.
Today we felt the remnants of Hurricane Nick as winds picked up to the mid teens. As we passed by the Naval Shipyard,we were awed by the navy vessels of all shapes and sizes.
Tonight we will stay at Hampton Public Pier and then on to Urbana tomorrow. We met a couple who live in League City, just a few miles away form our house and are here on their Tallycraft. We’ll have dinner with them and share cruising adventures.
